Sealink British Ferries

Sealink was the name used for the ferry services of British Rail. Renamed Sealink British Ferries in 1984 when privatisated and sold to Sea Containers. Subsequently sold to Stena Line in 1990 and renamed first Sealink Stena Line, then Stena Sealink Line before being fully absorbed into Stena Line in 1996. The sale to Stena Line excluded Hoverspeed, the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company and Sealink's Isle of Wight ferries which were all retained by Sea Containers the latter as Wightlink which was sold in 1995.
